Yarmouth Firefighters Assist Kayaker in Distress

Intrepid 78 year old woman needed a little help...

From the Yarmouth Fire Department:

Saturday Oct. 6th around 2:40PM YFD received a call for a missing kayaker off Greys Beach in Yarmouth Port.

HQ and Station 2 responded with boats and other apparatus. Station 2 launched Marine 565, a small pontoon style boat made for the shallow waters of Yarmouth Port.

Lt. Marc Abboud observed a kayaker from the end of the boardwalk and directed crews to the location.

The kayaker was an 78 years young lady who was separated from her friends. After making sure she was alright Marine 565 escorted her to the boat ramp with applause of onlookers.
