Wareham Police made several arrests in the past few days. In addition to several individuals taken into protective custody due to intoxication or domestic issues, we have the following:
7:10 a.m. - Sandra Jean Mahler, age 43, of East Wareham, was taken into custody by Officer Stephen Harrison following a motor vehicle stop on Cranberry Highway. Ms. Mahler faces charges of operating after suspension, 4th offense. She also too active default warrants.
6:45 a.m. - David Murphy, age 34, of Wareham was arrested by Officers Justin Silveira and Ryan Gomes at his home on an outstanding warrant.
2:00 p.m. - Darren Pina, age 46, of Wareham, was arrested by Officers Richard Robidoux and Christopher Smith after an alleged shoplifting incident at Walmart. The suspect fled the store prior to officers' arrival. Officer Smith later spotted the suepct on Main Street in a vehicle. Mr. Pina was alleged to have opened a package of box cutters, removed one and proceeded around the store using the box cutter to open packages, then concealing items, including several pairs of t-shirts, underwear, socks, and a package of headlight bulbs. Darren Pina faces charges of shoplifting by concealing merchandise.
11:30 p.m. - Wareham Police officers responded to Second Avenue for a report of male chopping wood, playing loud music, and causing a general disturbance at his residence. At the scene officers encountered Aaron Whipp-Pacheco, age 24, of 6 Second Avenue, who told officers he was on his property and officers could not tell him what to do. He then began flailing his arms wildly exclaiming, “Just try and arrest me”. After being advised he was being placed under arrest, he yelled an expletive at the officers and attempted to run to an open bulkhead, however officers stopped him there and placed him under arrest. The suspect is charged with: disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, resisting arrest, and intimidation of a witness after threatening an individual at the scene. Whipp-Pacheco was made by Officers Nate Aronson and James White.
9:15 a.m. - Greg Donahue, age 35, of Buzzards Bay was arrested following a vehicle stop on the Cranberry Highway. Donahue is charged with operating after suspension of his driver's license.
All defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
