State Senate Holds Moment of Silence in Memory of Walter Brooks

Adjourned in Blogfather's memory on October 22nd...
Walter R. Brooks, Jr. 1930-2018

The Massachusetts State Senate held a moment of silence an adjourned in memory of Walter R. Brooks, Jr. on October 22, 2018.  The motion was presented by State Senator Julian Cyr.

The citation from the Journal of the Senate cited Walter for his long career in media, including his innovation in developing the Best Read Guide, moving his tourism products to digital media and for the development of Cape Cod Today.

Walter was honored as a staunch advocate for Cape Cod's schools. He was also recognized for his prescience in realizing the potential for digital media long before his peers in print media moved in that direction.

Walter's sixty-five year career in journalism found him happily working his craft right up until his death on August 9, 2018.
