THREE ROAD WORK CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS FROM DPW

RTE 28 (Falmouth Road) NEAR BEARSE’S WAY
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) continues their roadway improvements for the ‘Rte. 28 Intersection Improvements at Bearse’s Way’ as scheduled. The next detour of traffic will be Wednesday, October 31st from 7:00AM until 12:00PM. 
On Wednesday, October 31, 2018, the westbound lane of Route 28 will be detoured at the intersection of Route 28 and Bearse’s Way. Traffic will be directed north on Bearse’s Way, then directed southeast down Pitcher’s Way. The end of the detour will occur as traffic migrates back to Route 28. Traffic to local businesses will be allowed access. This detour will end approximately at noon on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.
Traffic during construction operations will be delayed and motorists are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid the construction work.

ROADWAY PAVING
SMITH STEET, HYANNIS
The Department of Public Works will be paving Smith Street in Hyannis on Thursday, November 1, 2018. Work is expected to be completed by Friday, November 2, 2018, weather permitting. 
Vehicle access during construction operations will be restricted to one lane. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes to avoid the construction work. 
Operations will start promptly at 7 AM and run until 5 PM, after which time traffic will be opened back onto both lanes of the roadway.

DRAINAGE STRUCTURE & PAVEMENT REPAIRS
PHINNEYS LANE & HYANNIS ROAD
The Department of Public Works will be performing drainage structure repairs on various sections of Phinney’s Lane and Hyannis Road between Attucks Lane and the intersection with Route 6A in Barnstable Village beginning on Thursday, November 1, 2018. Failed sections of pavement around the structures will also be removed and replaced with new asphalt pavement. Work is expected to be completed by Friday, November 9, 2018, weather permitting. 
The drainage repairs and paving operations are both mobile activities that will proceed along one travel lane at a time. Vehicle access will be restricted to one lane around the mobile operations. Motorists can expect minor delays at times during this construction process. 

Operations will start promptly at 7 AM and run until 5 PM, after which time through traffic will be opened back onto all lanes of these roadways.

As always, please slow down and use extreme caution when traveling through the road construction areas and detour routes and follow posted safety and detour signs.
