Senator Julian Cyr Lists His Endorsements

A host of Democrats support the Senator's re-election...
State Senator Julian Cyr

TRURO -- Thursday, State Senator Julian Cyr (D-Truro) announced the support of local leaders at the town and county level from across Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket.

"I will be voting for State Senator Julian Cyr on November 6th as he is a leader who listens and delivers. In the town of Barnstable, he has brought critical revenue to our region to fight the opioid epidemic, to support our police and firefighters, to fund emergency shelters for the homeless, and secured funding for public schools to properly educate our students,” said Barnstable Town Councilor Britt Beedenbender.  “In the aftermath of Nor’easters that caused widespread damage from flooding, Julian quickly secured funding to help restore coastal infrastructure at Blish Point and Snow’s Creek in Barnstable. Cape Codders are fortunate to have Julian Cyr as their State Senator - please join me in re-electing him to the State Senate.”

“It is an honor to have the support of so many local partners in public service,” said Senator Cyr. “Leaders from Mashpee to Provincetown and both Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket have provided invaluable support and partnership throughout my first term, and together, I know we will continue delivering for our communities.”

"Julian has gotten so much done in one short term, understanding concerns and needs of Cape and Island residents and convincing his colleagues to support Towns, businesses, environment and critical infrastructure here,” said Louise Venden, Chair of the Provincetown Select Board. “He has bold ideas and is able to translate them into action through collaboration, commitment and endless energy."

"In his first term, Senator Cyr has created an efficient and outstanding staff addressing citizen, town government, county and state issues and concerns throughout the district,” said Paul Hebert, Barnstable Town Councilor. “His accomplishments in his first two years as our State Senator speak of his organizational skills, leadership, expertise and experience. His passion for fairness, openness, social equality and justice for all is evident in the bills he has introduced and supported. His non-partisan approach made for a coherent and forceful regional delegation. The entire District has benefited from the Senator's diligence in obtaining financial support for projects important to us all, and has appeared before town government leaders to report progress and concerns throughout the process.

Hebert continued: “As a Barnstable Town Councilor, I appreciate the funding Senator Cyr worked to secure for the restoration of the Armory on South Street and his support for funding in the supplemental budget for our Main Street Open Cape fiber optic expansion. From the environment to the economy; from housing to health care solutions Senator Cyr is our voice on Beacon Hill. We must keep Senator Cyr and his staff working for all of us. I am proud to support his campaign for re-election.”
