From the Dennis Police Department...

We've responded to a number of smash-and-grabs at beaches and conservation areas in town. In broad daylight, the windows of cars parked at town beaches have been smashed open and items inside have been stolen. In this case, "Lock your cars" is not applicable. If you park your car and walk the beach, (and why wouldn't you with this great November weather??) please leave valuables at home or out of view. Give these criminals nothing of interest to see.

At this point, we have detectives working on the case, along with detectives from other towns reporting similar incidents. Please stay vigilant and call us if you see anything suspicious, especially at beaches and conservation areas.

We expect further information to be released by our Public Information Officer as the investigation unfolds.
