Sad news to pass along-- The leatherback sea turtle rescued from First Encounter Beach in Eastham Sunday has died. The New England Aquarium, who worked non-stop to save this endangered animal, says the turtle showed some improvement yesterday but then declined. It just never was able to breathe normally. A necropsy is being performed today and we'll pass this valuable information along. Thanks to the folks who jumped in to get the turtle off the beach and to those who sent all the good wishes and positive thoughts! (Photo credit: Heather Pilchard.)
