State Police Investigating Fatal Crash in Wareham

UPDATE: Victim identified...

Update at 1:30 p.m. - The victim has been identified as Frank Mctighe, 60 of Holbrook. The remaining facts and circumstances are still under investigation.

From Massachusetts State Police (verbatim):

At approximately 3 a.m. today State Police Troop D received calls reporting a motor vehicle on fire. Responding Troopers located the vehicle on Route 25 eastbound just prior to Exit 2 in Wareham (mm 2.4).  The vehicle was in the median strip against a tree,  fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters extinguished the  flames; a victim was subsequently located deceased within the charred vehicle.

The investigation by MSP is ongoing and is being conducted by Troop D with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. No further information is available at this time.
