From the Barnstable Police Department:

On January 7, 2019 Barnstable Police Detectives and Patrol Officers arrested 24 year old Nicholas Tawatao of Hyannis after a month’s long investigation into over 30 incidents of “tagging”. Patrol Officer Travis Brown initiated the investigation after noticing a large number of buildings vandalized by spray paint. The graffiti was unique, with the signature “BLSD” in each of the incidents. Tawatao was identified as a suspect and taken into custody on a warrant. A search warrant executed at Tawatao’s home revealed nearly 100 cans of bright colored spray paint, specialty painting nozzles and sketchpads outlining his work.

This investigation is ongoing and the Barnstable Police are asking anyone who has been a victim of spray paint graffiti, especially if the graffiti involves the tag “BLSD” to please contact Detective Kevin Connolly at [email protected] welcomes thoughtful comments and the varied opinions of our readers.
