Foreign Film at Brewster Library

February 1st at 1:30 p.m.

BREWSTER- The Brewster Ladies’ Library will be presenting its First Friday Foreign Film in the Library’s Auditorium on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 1:30 p.m.

“This film tells the story of Shira, a devout eighteen-year-old Israeli, who is set to marry a promising young man. When her sister dies unexpectedly during childbirth, the family pressures Shira to marry her late sister’s husband. Declaring her independence is not an option in Tel Aviv’s ultra-Orthodox Hasidic community, where religious law, tradition and the rabbi’s word are absolute. Everything changes when Shira is forced to choose between her heart’s wish and her family duty.” (DVD Cover)

This film is rated PG. Presented in Hebrew with English subtitles, this film runs for 90 minutes. Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend.
