Wild Care Rehabbing Emaciated Razorbill

"This is a determined bird..."
Emaciated and dehydrated, this razorbill is fighting its way back. (WCCC photo)

From our friends at Wild Care Cape Cod...

This razorbill is feeling a little defensive for his/her photo, but it still came out great. (Thank you Kerry Reid for the beautiful picture.)

Last Thursday this bird was found underneath a vehicle in Wellfleet, and when we received him/her at Wild Care, the razorbill was dehydrated and emaciated, but otherwise uninjured.

Well this is a determined bird. We have corrected the dehydration and now razorbill is eating fish and doing laps in the seabird pool. He/she is still weak and needs to put weight on, but is well on the road to recovery. Nothing is guaranteed of course, but we are very hopeful about this patient! Yay razorbill!
