Cape Cod Theatre Company/ Harwich Junior Theatre (CCTC/HJT) will present the regional premier of Disney FREAKY FRIDAY -- the hilarious, contemporary tale of an overworked mother and her teenage daughter who magically swap bodies and spend a madcap 24 hours dealing with the challenges in each other’s lives.   The show begins February 15 and runs through March 17.

This new musical is based on the beloved 1972 novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney films and was developed by Disney Theatrical Productions.  The show features a book by Bridget Carpenter (FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS and PARENTHOOD) and music and lyrics by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey - the Pulitzer Prize-winning composers of NEXT TO NORMAL and IF/THEN.

By spending a day in each other's shoes, Mom Katherine and Daughter Ellie come to appreciate one another's struggles, learn self-acceptance, and realize the immeasurable love and mutual respect that bond a mother and daughter – all while giving the audience a lot of laughs.

Sara Plunkett stars as Katherine Blake.  Classically trained, Sara has played roles from Shakespeare to Sondheim, and has worked in Theatre and film all across the country for the past decade. Some of her favorite past roles are Emma Goldman in Ragtime, Florinda in Into the Woods, and Brunhilda in Das Barbeque. Sara is the Founder, Producer, and Director of The Palm Cabaret New York City and is looking forward to relocating her company to Cape Cod summer 2019.

Celia Cota plays Ellie Blake, the teenage daughter.. Celia lives in Yarmouth Port with her family and attends Monomoy Regional high school where she is a senior. Celia’s favorite roles include Gertrude McFuzz in Suessical at New England Youth Theater in Brattleboro, Vermont and Little Sally in Urinetown at the Tilden Arts Center.
