Monomoy Regional High School has named Molly McKenna as their January female scholar athlete of the month.  Here are some words from one of her coaches:

As Molly’s coach I am in total awe of her ability to balance a heavy academic course load along with her consistent dedication to the Furies as a team Captain. She shows up to our team’s practice everyday with a smile, a positive attitude, and a clear mindset to focus on the whatever the task at hand is. Enduring a knee injury, Molly still shows up physically and mentally ready to give her team 100%. As the varsity ice hockey team’s starting goaltender, I have witnessed her ability to perform under immense pressure. Molly never gives up no matter how testing the challenge coming her way may be. Her mature and approachable demeanor are what set her apart from other student athletes that I have coached. Molly is always taking the initiative to lend a hand whether it is offering a ride to an underclassmen or simply just providing a shoulder to lean on when times get tough as they can in these formative years for many high school student-athletes. Molly exemplifies all of the qualities that a desired team player should demonstrate and is a role model to everyone she leads.
