Truro Police Statement on Man Burned in Fireplace Accident

Statement issued by the Truro Police Department:

On Saturday, February 9, 2019, members of the Truro Police Department, Truro Fire Department, and Lower Cape Ambulance were dispatched to 21 South Pamet Rd. for reports of an 85-year-old male suffering burns to his lower body.

Upon arrival, it was determined that the male received significant burns to both his legs and hands while attending to a fire in his fireplace.  Lower Cape Ambulance transported to male victim to Orleans where he was transferred to MedFlight and airlifted to a Boston area hospital.
