AAA’s experienced and independent inspectors annually visit and approve more than 32,000 restaurants across North America. Only 67 hotels, 0.2 percent of the total, receive AAA’s highest rating of Five Diamonds, while just another 656 properties, or 2.1 percent, receive the Four Diamond award.
AAA Northeast is pleased to announce that 14 restaurants in Massachusetts are being honored in 2019, with three receiving the prestigious Five Diamond recognition.
“The Five and Four Diamond ratings are impressive accomplishments that recognize the upper echelon of restaurants in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean,” said Mary Maguire, AAA Northeast Director of Public and Legislative Affairs.
The Massachusetts Five Diamond recipients are:
Boston Menton, (first honored in 2011)
Lenox The Portico by Jeffrey Thompson (2005)
Nantucket Topper’s (2017)
Four Diamond recipients are:
Boston Bar Boulud Boston (2016)
Mamma Maria (2005)
No. 9 Park (2002)
Chatham Stars (2013)
Concord 80 Thoreau (2014)
East Harwich twenty-eight Atlantic (2002)
New Marlborough The Old Inn on the Green (2000)
The recipients will be honored by AAA this spring at luncheons in Boston and in the Berkshires. For more than 80 years, AAA has used professional inspectors to conduct in-person property evaluations. AAA offers the only rating system using comprehensive, on-site professional hotel and restaurant evaluations guided by AAA member priorities.
