Young Architects: Design your Dream House program in February.

The Osterville Village Library (OVL) is pleased to announce the upcoming Young Architects: Design your Dream House two-day program.

In this 2-day class on Tuesday, February 19th and Wednesday, February 20th from 1:00 PM- 4:00 PM, children in grades 5-8 will imagine and design their own dream house. They will draw a site plan and a floor plan using real drafting tools, and make a great-looking scale model to take home. Pre-register with the library: class limit of 8. ###

Osterville Village library announces upcoming Backyard Garden presentation in February.

The Osterville Village Library (OVL) is pleased to announce the upcoming presentation by Larry Dapsis, local Entomologist with the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension of Barnstable County, on Monday, February 25th at 1:00pm.

This will include an overview of the pest management tool box and the variety of vegetables and small fruits that gardeners enjoy growing, the principal insect pests and solutions.  This will include an introduction to the good bugs that are helping…predators and parasites. ###

Osterville Village library announces upcoming virtual reality Oculus Rift “Vacation” Travel Series program from February to March.

The Osterville Village Library (OVL) is pleased to announce the upcoming virtual reality Oculus Rift “Vacation” Travel Series program. Vacation...minus the travel & hassle! Wish you could escape the snow & travel this winter? Want to sightsee the world without leaving the Cape? Every 2 weeks we'll offer a new place for you to "travel" to (but you're welcome to travel anywhere when you sign up!). Sign up at the Osterville Village Library circulation desk or call us at 508-428-5757 to try our new virtual reality technology. Please call ahead with a date and time you would like to come in so we can have the OculusRift ready for you.

The follow dates are our suggested travel locations, but you are more than welcome to choose another location. “Mount Everest” runs February 3rd-16th; “Grand Canyon” runs February 17th-March 2nd; “Italy” runs March 3rd-16th; “Brazil” runs March 17th-30th. Program will take place in the Library’s lower level Makerspace.
