Two Local Students Make Assumption College Lacrosse Team

More local students making their hometowns proud...

The Assumption Department of Athletics has announced that 40 student-athletes have earned a spot on the 2019 Assumption College Men's Lacrosse team. Local students include:

  • Colby Hamwey of West Yarmouth (02673), Class of 2019
  • Sean Laughlin of East Sandwich (02537), Class of 2022

"Our motivating passion this season is to strive each day to be the best version of ourselves," said Guy Bourdon, new head coach of the Assumption Men's Lacrosse team. "This includes maximizing our efforts as students, athletes and members of the Assumption campus community. If we focus on these primary aspects, and continue to sustain a positive team environment, this group of student-athletes will benefit from achieving their goals."

Assumption is coming off a 7-6 record and seventh place finish in the Northeast-10 Conference last year. The 2019 squad, picked in the top 10 of the NE10 Preseason Coaches' Poll, features eight returning seniors and all three of their top goal scorers from last season. The team, which began playing in late February, hosts its first home opener on March 23.
