Yarmouth Police: Man Accidentally Shoots Himself in Hand

From the Yarmouth Police Department:

On 3/18/19 at approximately 2:30 pm the Yarmouth Police Department and Yarmouth Fire Department received a call for a medical emergency at the Buck Island Condominium complex on Buck Island Road in West Yarmouth. The caller notified the emergency telecommunications dispatcher that he had accidently shot himself in the hand with his firearm. 

Upon arrival at the location officers secured the scene and the victim was treated by members of the Yarmouth Fire Department. Due to the extent of the injury the victim was transported to Boston via med-flight helicopter for treatment. 

The incident is under investigation by members of the Yarmouth Police Department. The victim is properly licensed and the weapon is lawfully registered. The incident is being investigated as an accidental shooting.
