From the Yarmouth Police (verbatim):

On Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 1200PM an employee of the Cumberland Farms Store located on Route 28 in West Yarmouth reported observing two men acting suspicious in the store. The employee further reported she observed them walk outside to the rear of the store and place a black object under a rear shed near the building and walk away. The employee was concerned it may have been some type of explosive device.

Yarmouth and Massachusetts State Police arrived at the scene and evacuated and secured the area with help from the Yarmouth Division of Natural Resources.

For public safety reasons, a State Police explosive unit arrived and subsequently located the device which turned out to be a black metal can opener and nothing dangerous.

The store and area were reopened at 2:30PM.
