Firefighters Knock Down Garage Fire in North Dennis

Home suffered substantial smoke damage...

From the Dennis Fire Department:

NORTH DENNIS (MA)  – The Dennis fire and police department responded to a garage fire at 9:24 Friday night. The house located at 31 Flax Street, North Dennis is a ranch style house with a garage under. A neighbor spotted smoke coming from the garage and called 911.

According to the assessors map the home is owned by Precsila Rodgers was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

Upon arrival firefighters had to stretch hose lines through the front of the house down to the garage below. The fire was quickly extinguished and contained to the garage with substantial smoke damage to the dwelling.

The fire does not appear to be suspicious with all indicators leaning towards a pile of greasy oily rags.

The Dennis fire department was assisted with an engine by the Yarmouth fire according to a mutual response agreement.
