The union representing Stop & Shop workers has launched a GoFundMe campaign to provide financial assistance for strikers facing financial hardship.

The campaign had raised $32,287 towards a goal of $250,000 as of 4:35 p.m. Friday afternoon.  Workers have been on strike since April 11th when the The United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) and Stop & Shop management reached an impasse in negotiations.  The union represents workers in more than 400 Stop & Shop stores, including fourteen on Cape Cod and the Islands.

On the GoFundMe page the union states that "your donations to this strike fund will be used to assist Stop & Shop strikers facing hardships."
