STONEWALL – A Personal Account of the Event That Started a Movement

Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising, the beginning of the civil rights movement for the gay community, with David Velacso-Bermudez of Yarmouth Port, a Stonewall veteran who was there that night in June1969.  David will share his memories and the meaning of the riots.

The evening opens with the PBS documentary on the LGBT history of abuse and terror, which led to that June night in New York’s Greenwich Village bar, the new legislation that followed and the birth of the Pride Parades.
