Man Accused in Fatal Stabbing Arraigned on Murder Charge

Cape & Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe and Barnstable Police Chief Matthew Sonnabend announced today that on May 19, 2019 at approximately 10:36 pm police received a 911 call regarding a stabbing at the Village Green in Hyannis. The victim, Brenden Flynn (dob 5-30-95, no known address) was transported to CCH where he was pronounced deceased. The suspect, Nicholas Galanto (dob 4-24-87, no known address) fled the scene on a bicycle but was apprehended a short time later behind a nearby residence.

Galanto was arraigned this morning in Barnstable District Court on one count of murder. He is held without bail and due back in court on June 25, 2019.
