What were mooncussers? And why create a radio play? In this pot-pourri talk, uncover a little of our maritime history and how a legend became an awarded radio play. The Mooncusser’s Tale, a haunting story of piracy and family conflict on 19th century Wellfleet was a special Halloween broadcast on WOMR-FM, which will broadcast it again Sat. June 1 at noon. The work was awarded a Brewster cultural Council grant, and the Silver prize from the upcoming audio and podcast festival Hear Now! (The talk will be accompanied by slides of places which helped inspire the The Mooncusser's Tale.)
Lee Roscoe is an awarded environmentalist/educator, a former Equity actress who’s appeared off-Broadway and in independent films, as well on Cape Cod -- a playwright whose work has been seen from NYC to Provincetown, (whose political satire HERE! has had numerous readings to audience acclaim as it seeks production) -- and a long time journalist with hundreds of published pieces on arts, history, environment, and news.
