From the Yarmouth Division of Natural Resources:

Shellfish Confiscated After Report of Illegal Harvesting

On the morning of July 2, 2019 a Yarmouth DNR Law Enforcement Officer was dispatched to Follins Pond for the report of illegal shellfishing.

The officer located several people actively shell fishing in a closed area for recreational harvesting.

The illegally harvested shellfish were confiscated. All shellfish were still alive and able to be returned to the waters of Yarmouth.

Remember to carefully read shellfishing signs and that everyone looking to harvest shellfish in the commonwealth requires a shellfishing permit.
