Dennis Firefighters Respond to Dennis Port House Fire

Alert neighbor spotted fire going up the side of the house...

From the Dennis Fire Department:

A neighbor spotted a fire going up the side of a building and warned the occupants inside to get out. The fire was reported at 2PM at 520 Depot Street Dennis Port. When firefighters arrived a family friend used a garden hose to knock the fire down. Firefighters stretched a hose line to finalize extinguishment of the building while checking for extension. There was significant damage to the outside wall of the two story house.

The owner of the home is Todd Rancourt. According to the town’s assessors information the house has an assessed value of $492,800.

The cause of the fire is under investigation however it does not appear to be suspicious at this time.
