Bourne Firefighters Knock Down Residential Fire

Smoke snowing from roof of the home...

From Bourne Firefighters IAFF Local 1717:

Firefighters were called to the Brookside area on Prestwick Rd. for a structure fire just after 8pm last night. Upon arrival firefighters found smoke showing from the roof of the home. First on scene firefighters out of the Pocasset and Buzzards Bay Stations first ensured all residents were safely evacuated. Crews then made entry into the attic and extinguished the fire. Damage was limited to one unit and the homeowners were not displaced. Thank you to all the mutual aid departments on scene and those doing station coverage.

Great work Barnstable County Dispatchers juggling mutual aid resources as 2 structure fires simultaneously happened in Bourne and Sandwich due to lightning
