Storm Update from Yarmouth Police

Significant tree and electrical damage...

From the Yarmouth Police Department:

A fast moving storm, which was likely a tornado, moved through West and South Yarmouth around noon today.

There has been significant tree and electrical damage throughout the area. As of the moment there are no significant injuries reported.

There has been significant damage to the Cape Sands Motel at 149 Rt. 28. which includes the roof blowing off.

The Yarmouth Police Department, Fire Department and DPW have been working together to respond to over 200 calls in a short period of time.

We ask you to stay off the roadways due to the large amount of tree and power line damage.
