Beloved Local Radio Personality Has Died at 77

Charles "Bill" Lowell, Jr. 1942-2019

Charles “Bill” William Lowell Jr.,Born May 15, 1942 to Charles William Lowell and Helen (McMillon) Lowell in Reading, Massachusetts.

He graduated Reading High School Class of 1960. He then attended Northeast Broadcasting School and went on to become quite a radio personality!

He worked for WBZ in Boston, WLYN, in Lynn Ma, WHAV in Haverhill Ma, WPTR in New York, WAEB, Pennsylvania, WKLX in Virginia, CFOX in Canada, WRKO in Boston, MA and finally Fox 93.5 and Cool 102 on the Cape. He was in MANY MANY MANY commericals! You may not recognize his face…but his voice is truly memorable!

Working in radio, he interviewed countless artists…The Beatles, Sir Roger Scott, The Kinks, Neil Diamond, Glenn Campbell, Shaun Cassidy, Andy Kim, Tommy Heinsohn and Barbra Streisand to name a few. He had a story for everyone!

He worked as a radio DJ, Harbor Master, Dog Catcher, Volunteer Fireman and on the paramedic team.

He enjoyed spending time at Captain Parkers!

He leaves his daughter, Lorena Castricone and her husband, Joe of Vernon, VT; and a son, Jamie Lowell and his wife Shannon of Amesbury, Ma. A granddaughter, Tara Castricone and grandsons, Ethan Lowell and Hayden Lowell.

He is also survived by his sister, Janice Lowell Desrosiers and her husband Mark of Tweksbury, Ma and nieces Noelle Malenfant and Holly Golden.

He was predeceased by his son, Charles “Billy” William Lowell III, and companion Linda Russell
