Helene Finn gave long and faithful service to the department...
Helene Bernier Finn (1921-2019)

From the Orleans Police Department:

It is with deep regret to announce the passing of Helene Finn, long time employee of the Orleans Police Department. Helen was Chief Chet Landers administrative assistant for many years in the 70's and 80's. Helene would only refer to the patrolmen as "her boys". She will be missed.

Helene Bernier Finn (97) died on July 12th, 2019 in Clearwater, FL. Born in Boston October 6th, 1921, she moved to Orleans as an infant, and graduated from Orleans High School in 1939 and Kathleen Dell School in Brookline, MA in 1941.

Upon graduation, she was employed at the State House, Executive Department, in Boston, working as a secretary for then Gov. Leverett Saltonstall. She left this position to join the war effort at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in Hartford, CT, later working for Southern Bell Telephone Co. as secretary to the General Manager.

Upon returning to Cape Cod, she worked for the N.E. Telephone Company and was appointed to the Board of Registrars in Orleans, later employed by The Orleans Police Departments until her retirement to Clearwater, FL in 1986.

Her greatest hobby was traveling- visiting every Continent except Antarctica.
