Alleged OUI Driver Hits Construction Truck in Wellfleet

Driver arrested, one person transported to hospital...

From the Wellfleet Police Department (verbatim):

On 8/12/2019 at approximately 2:42 pm, Wellfleet PD started to receive reports of an erratic operation complaint of a brown Toyota Camry, traveling westbound (towards Eastham) on Rt. 6 in the northern part of Wellfleet. At approximately 2:44 pm, Wellfleet PD received a report of car crash in the vicinity of Rt. 6 and Lawrence Road.

Upon the arrival of Wellfleet PD, we learned the vehicle described in the above erratic operation had struck a Robert B. Our work truck towing a utility trailer, stopped in traffic on Rt. 6 (westbound).

Officers conducting an investigation of the scene determined the operator of the 2005 Camry, was operating under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested at the scene and transported to the Wellfleet Police Station for booking.

Arrested Party / operator of Camry:
Male, 55 years of age, Arlington, MA
Operating under the influence of alcohol, (additional charges will be added)

Camry Occupants:
3 adult passengers, 1 transported for evaluations, non life threatening injuries.

Robert B. Our vehicle, no injuries, no one transported.

Rt. 6 remained open during the investigation.
