Bourne Police and Fire officials are breathing a sigh of relief after a breezeway fire was knocked down before it could turn far more serious....

From the Bourne Police Department:

Everyone wants to be a firefighter...even a Minion on Patrol every now and then. This morning Officer Look responded to a structure fire on Savary Ave, Sagamore Beach. When he arrived, the occupants advised there was a fire in an enclosed rear breezeway just outside the back door. The fire was already halfway up the wall. Officer Look was able to utilize his cruiser's fire extinguisher and knock the fire down until the fire department was able to arrive and fully extinguish it. Great job to Team Red and to Officer Look.

From Bourne Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 1717:

Great work Officer Look !!!

Also, strong work by the family who lived at that residence. They had working smoke alarms that alerted them to the fire, they safely evacuated the building and called 911. All are safe and able to stay in their home due to their quick actions and the cooperation of the BPD & BFD.
