Truro, MA – Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill will hold it annual “Paint the Race” event in conjunction with the Provincetown Schooner Regatta on Thursday, September 5 from 12:00 – 3:00 PM. Admission is $35.

"Paint the Race" invites artists and boat enthusiasts to participate in a unique opportunity: to paint, sketch or photograph the 2019 Great Provincetown Schooner Regatta Race from a whale watching boat. Throughout the 3-hour cruise, participants will enjoy breathtaking views of the skyline, harbor, and the dramatic schooners themselves.  The deck of the boat offers a unique vantage point that not only captures the drama and excitement of the regatta but also provides a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get close enough to paint and photograph even the crew members in action.  The event allows participants to have a truly distinctive cultural experience as they create art or watch art being created before their eyes, carrying on the tradition of the many artists who have graced Provincetown since the 1800s.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of the Regatta and carry on the artistic tradition of Provincetown,” says Cherie Mittenthal, Castle Hill’s Executive Artistic Director. “It is also a fun , exciting way to cap of the summer on Cape Cod.”
