The following press release was issued by Joe Glynn of Yarmouth and is published verbatim as submitted by the candidate:

Joe Glynn of Hyannis Park-Yarmouth has decided to announce his intention to run for one of the two Barnstable County Commissioner’s seats up in the 2020 General Election.

Glynn said:”Ron Beaty’s on going cries for his 15 Minutes of fame have grown stale and border on scary”!

Glynn is Vice Chairman as an Elected Commissioner for the Yarmouth Housing Authority.

“Ron Beaty has kicked off the election season along with the Presidential and other upcoming announcements like Massachusetts Senate rumors by continuing with his outlandish ongoing phony polls” Glynn stated.

Glynn continued: “Barnstable County Commissioner has been my goal all along.”  “Gaining earned and free media beyond Yarmouth was secondary to developing solutions to community problems on issues of the day while giving voters a voice.”  “Having profiles,  biographical information, editorials, my views opinion pieces in local and regional print media along with many electronic media conversations is an asset in expanding name recognition throughout the county.”  “My friends and supporters have long known my desire to restructure and rebrand our county government so they not only know what it is suppose to do , but to do it!”

“Unfortunately,  it has gotten worse and it has gotten to be an embarrassment for those of all persuasions”!  “People of good conscience who believe in good stewardship of our Cape Cod Taxpayers funds and other varying issues are sick of having to defend an unstable Commissioner, who makes outlandish statements then backtracks by portending he is some kind of pollster.  His polls usually have literally a couple of participants that probably include his wife and mother.  Hardly scientific and understood to be a ruse, to mask his opinion.”  He abandons those that may have a reasonable agreement with him by punting when the heat comes down on him.  He was unavailable after he said he want to put out bait drums, shoot seals and sharks, after he got the attention by using his Commissioners title. He missed meeting following the entire Cape Delegation at every level asked for him to resign and his only legacy will be a recall provision that was part of his censure conversation.”

Restructuring of County government including recall and Commissioners tenure has been conversation Joe Glynn has driven but Ron Beaty has made it necessary.”

“County Commissioner for one term will be the only elected office Ron Beaty will ever win of the 10 races he has entered.  His 52 votes for Barnstable Housing Authority and the shocking outcome in 2016 because people didn’t know him and other election dynamics will not benefit him again!”

“Finally, Glynn stated, people know what we have on our hands.”  “I don’t think people want shocking statements weekly but Ron seems to need to make them and the media will obliged him as savage entertainment but it certainly doesn’t solve anything“!

“If on the other hand, you want truthful between your eyes comments, well I can be forthright and honest with my comments”.  Here’s one: “If Ron Beaty was on the ballot for election to the County Commissioners with John Hinckley because, he served his time and got 30 years of mental health counseling,  I would say Hinckley would be more capable with similar qualifications, and social pathology.” “The avoidance of the fact that Ron has for many years made vulgar statements on top of terrorizing threats, that grammar school kids know to be wrong, is being naive to the fact that this person is not qualified for public office”!

“Parking spots, insulting Gold Star Families over again Barnstable County Complex Villlage Parking, sac religious insults of Seafood Business owners, and hoping for shark attacks to get heat off the fact that no one of any delegation or persuasion will publicly agree with him, leaves anybody even remotely philosophically tied to him running away.”  Con Ron’s 15 Mins. of fame ends 12/31/20 but you better believe he will go out with a bang and that is the scary reality everybody is aware!”

Joe Glynn will file statement of financial interest, state ethics and all proper reports with the state ethics commission, office of political campaign finance (OCPF), MA State Secretary of State and County Clerks office at the appropriate times.  The Secretary of States Office (Election Division) has approved the Political Designation of “Gulf War Veteran” that will appear on all signature sheets.
