Alleged West Dennis Shooter Held Without Bail

Saul Hernandez-Arroyo pleads not guilty, held pending dangerousness hearing...

Orleans, MA - Saul Hernandez-Arroyo, age 20, of West Dennis was arraigned in Orleans District Court Tuesday morning. 

He faces charges of:

  • Armed assault with a firearm with intent to murder
  • Assault and battery with a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling
  • Felony possesion of a firearm with defaced serial number
  • Two counts each of assault with a dangerous weapon and carrying a loaded firearm without a license

Hernandez-Arroyo is alleged to have shot a man in the head at the parking lot of Finley's Liquors on Route 28 in West Dennis.  Judge Robert Welsh ordered the defendant held without bail pending a danerousness hearing.  That hearing is scheduled for September 10th.

There is no update on the condition of the victim, who was medflighted to Massachusetts General Hospital following the 3 p.m. incident Friday.
