The driver of this SUV was OK but the vehicle snapped a utility pole, resulting in significant traffic disruption in Barnstable Village Friday afternoon. (WBFD photo)

From the West Barnstable Fire Department:

Crash at Main & Maple Street: This afternoon the WBFD responded to the one-car crash on Main Street.

The car cut the utility pole in two leaving part of the pole hanging by the wires.

The driver was OK. Main Street and Maple Street had to be closed to traffic for repair of the power lines and pole.
