After a resoundingly well received opening weekend, Eventide Theatre Company continues to bring more surprises to the Cape Cod Theatre Community.  This Friday, the author of the current production, Rich Orloff, will be visiting to watch our production and to join the cast for a talkback after the show.

Mr. Orloff has written numerous plays over the years with over two-thousand productions of his works across the country under his belt.  They range widely in style and subject matter.

“As a playwright,” says Orloff, “my goal is to engage audiences and take them on a ride through the human experience.”  He continues, “Although my plays vary from comic explorations of such topics as disability and lust among the older crowd to documentary style plays, they all feature my own unique blend of irreverence and compassion.

“I first came across Rich Orloff’s work when I directed a one-act of his called ‘The Whole Shebang’, a play about how the entire known universe is simply a thesis project for a rather middling university student from a higher dimension,” recalls Toby Wilson, the shows Director.  “His work was so clever and well written, and it appealed to me because of its absurdist premise”

Radio Ridiculous will continue its acclaimed run at Eventide Theatre on the Gertrude Lawrence Stage of the Dennis Union Church.  The show runs until September 22nd with performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday starting at 7:30, and Sundays at 2:30.  Tickets are on sale for $25 online at www.eventidearts.org, by calling 508-398-8588 or at the door.  There is no additional charge for the author talk-back on Friday, September 13th and it will be held immediately following the performance.  Eventide Theatre Company is a 501(c)3 independent theatre located in the heart of Dennis Village and is known for presenting thought-provoking plays, concerts, lectures and mixed media events.   Annually Eventide hosts the Kaplan Playwriting/New Plays competition as well as the New England Songwriting Competition.
