Yarmouth Police "Operation Ungun" Unwanted Weapon Turn In Day

September 28th from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

From the Yarmouth Police Department:

Yarmouth Police Headquarters will serve as a collection point for anyone who has unwanted firearms or ammunition.

Having a firearm or ammunition in your home is a big responsibility and demands the highest level of respect and security.

If anyone finds that they no longer want the responsibility of having a firearm or ammunition in their home please contact us and we will appropriately dispose of the items in accordance with Massachusetts laws.

Anyone who brings a firearm or ammunition to our facility must make sure it is unloaded and fully-secured. If there are any doubts about its safety please call us and a Police Officer will come to your home, safely remove it and transport it to our facility.

During the same time period, the YPD will also be giving out Free Gun Locks to anyone who would like one.
