YPD Arrests Intoxicated Man for Disorderly Conduct and Improper Storage for Firearms

INTOXICATED MAN ARRESTED FOR DISORDERLY CONDUCT AND IMPROPER STORAGE OF FIREARMS

Incident Synopsis
On Friday, September 20, 2019 at 7PM, the Yarmouth Police Department Emergency 911 Dispatch Center received a call from a woman reporting her husband was intoxicated, armed with a handgun, and suicidal.

The caller further reported the man had already shot off one round.

Numerous Yarmouth Police Department Patrol Officers converged on the home and found the couple on the ground in the back yard fighting.

Yarmouth Police Officers placed the man under arrest and secured the scene.

Numerous loaded, and unloaded unsecured and secured handguns, rifles, and shotguns were found in the home.

All weapons and ammunitions were seized and the License to Carry was suspended per the Chief of Police.

Members of the Yarmouth Fire Department and the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office provided medical assistance and crime scene services.

The Bail Commissioner set bail at $5,040 cash.

The bail was paid and the suspect was released over the weekend.

The suspect is due in the Barnstable District Court this morning, Monday, September 23, 2019 for arraignment.

The Yarmouth Police Department Command Staff highly commends the Police Officers, Emergency 911 Dispatchers, and all First Responders involved in this dangerous and high-risk incident.
