Eastham Police Statement on Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle on Route 6

On Monday, 9/23/19, at approximately 7:00 pm the Eastham Police and Fire Departments received multiple 911 calls reporting a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle on Route 6 in front of the 7-Eleven.

The first arriving Eastham Police units located an injured pedestrian on the ground and multiple vehicles stopped in the roadway. The operator of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained on scene and provided a statement to Eastham Police.

The Eastham Fire and Rescue Department transported the pedestrian, a 62 year old male from Eastham, to the Barnstable Municipal Airport where he was then transferred by MedFlight helicopter to a Boston area hospital. The pedestrian’s injuries were believed to be non-life threatening.

This motor vehicle crash remains under investigation by Eastham Police Sergeant Mark Haley.
