Wellfleet Police - Theft of Cash from Store Leads to B&E, Larceny Suspect

Statement from Wellfleet Police (verbatim):

On Sunday September 29, 2019 at approximately 1243 hours, the Wellfleet Police Department received a report from Riley’s T-Shirt Outlet on Route Six that a white male entered the store and was acting suspicious. After the male party exited the store, the clerk discovered that money had been taken from the register and notified police. Upon arrival, officer’s set-up a perimeter of the area and discovered a male matching the description walking down Lieutenant Island Road. The male, identified as 29 years of age, Wellfleet resident who was taken into custody without incident.

After a subsequent investigation, it was discovered that the person was involved in a Breaking and Entering of a residence in the area prior to the incident at Riley’s T-Shirt shop. The Wellfleet Police asks that if anyone saw something suspicious in this area to please call the department with any information.

The party has been charged with Larceny from a Building, B&E into a Dwelling and three counts of Larceny from a Dwelling. He is being held on $1,000 cash bail pending his arraignment Monday at Orleans District Court.
