Hyannis Crash Left 1,300 Without Power Saturday Night

UPDATED - Driver who left scene located and charged...

Update:  The driver of the vehicle - Nicole Andrews, age 48, of Hyannis - was located by Barnstable Police and faces charges of operating under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident.  She was found by police on Lighthouse Lane.

Original Story

Approximately 1,300 Eversource customers were without power for a time Saturday evening after a car struck a utility pole at Sea Street and Ocean Avenue.  The 10:30 p.m. crash snapped the pole and brought down live wires, causing a fire.  

When Barnstable Police arrived they found the vehicle unoccupied.  Police are investigating the crash and searching for the driver.
