The Masonic Angel Foundation has commenced Beehive Winter Coats deliveries with 100 coats being delivered Friday morning to the Cape Cod Family Resource Center in Hyannis.  The Center is part of Family Continuity.

Last year the Masonic Angels delivered over 1,200 winter coats for children between Wellfleet and Falmouth.

Last week they received their first shipment of 1,000 coats, purchased through their retail partner The Clothes Den of Orleans.

Most of this year's coats feature an insulated hood, sweater style sleeves, water resistant outer shell, dual closure and a liner that can pop out as a spring or fall jacket.

"Every one of our coats is a brand new, name-brand coat.  Most are retail ticketed at $69 to $89 but our retail partner was able to get these for us at only $16 each," reports Masonic Angel Foundation president Robert Fellows.  The organization also has toddler snow pants coming in a future shipment.

The Beehive Winter Coat program is in its sixth year.

This is the first year that the Cape Cod Family Resource Center has received Beehive Winter Coats.  The Masonic Angel Foundation's Laptops for KidZ project has worked with Family Continuity for several years.  This year the two organizations expanded their relationship to include 120 Beehive School Tools school supply kits and 100 Beehive Winter Coats.  "Thank you so much for all these amazing coats! It is so appreciated!" says Family Support Worker Amanda Southwick.

The Masonic Angel Fund program has served Cape Cod children since 1998.  Their programs include the school-based Masonic Angel Fund, which provides necessary items and services for children in need that may not fit the criteria of traditional social service programs.  MAF also offers the Beehive Food Program, Beehive School Tools school supply kits, Laptops for KidZ refurbished laptops, Beehive Winter Coats and more.

Children who receive coats are selected by school staff and caseworkers at social service agencies that partner with MAF.  MAF volunteers never learn the identity of the children that receive coats or any other benevolence from MAF programs.

Over the next few weeks, the Masonic Angels well be delivering coats to many elementary schools across the Cape.
