Wareham DNR Catches Illegal Dumper on "Candid Camera"

First offense fine is up to $5,500, seizure of your vehicle and license suspension...
Wareham DNR reminds that you're on camera from the minute you enter the power lines until you leave. (WDNR photo)

From Wareham Department of Natural Resources (verbatim):

Thinking of illegally dumping or littering in Wareham? Think again. You will be caught.

A WDNR Officer on patrol located an area which was littered with items that looked like someone cleaned out their car. This was abutting the Red Brook Wildlife Management Area on the powerlines adjacent to Rickey Lane. After checking camera footage and checking through some of the litter, the party responsible was identified.

Citation issued and the violator picked up the debris and disposed of it properly.

The violator probably thought that they would get away with it, wrong. Smile for the camera! If you enter on the powerlines, you are under video surveillance from the second you enter and until the second you leave. Dispose of your debris the right way, or it will cost you.

Violators could face fines up to $5500 for the first offense and seizure of your motor vehicle as well as drivers license suspension!
