Josiah Dennis Manse will be wrapped in holiday cheer for Christmas at the Manse as it opens Sunday, December 8, from noon to 3:30 pm as a can’t-miss stop on this year’s Dennis Village Stroll.

The historic home of the town’s namesake minister will be festively adorned by Dennis Historical Society and Manse Committee members with winter greens like white pine, cedar boughs, Douglas firs, and golden arborvitae. Other natural decorations from holidays past will feature seashells and pine cones, as well as oranges and lemons studded with whole cloves. Visitors will also enjoy a variety of Yuletide treats—including punch and freshly-baked Christmas cookies—as they tour the period rooms of the 1736 homestead and visit the Maritime Room in the back ell.

The Josiah Dennis Manse is located at Nobscussett Road and Whig Street. As always, admission is free, with donations gladly accepted. welcomes thoughtful comments and the varied opinions of our readers.
