Letter: "Private Property Rights are Sacrosanct"

from County Commissioner Ron Beaty

Letters to the editor reflect the opinions of the writer and do not necessary reflect those of the editors, staff and advertisers of CCToday.

In the United States of America, PRIVATE PROPERTY RIGHTS are sacrosanct, which is why as a candidate for Barnstable County Commissioner in 2016, I signed a pledge to protect PRIVATE PROPERTY RIGHTS in Massachusetts and on Cape Cod.

The pending West Harwich District of Critical Planning Concern (DCPC) is a classic example of excessive government overreach and a clear infringement of private property rights within the area in question!

This is one of the main reasons why I will be voting against the DCPC today.

Thanks.

Ron Beaty, County Commissioner
