High Winds Knock Out Power Across SE Massachusetts

Gale Warning In Effect Until Tonight...

A wind storm that is blasting through the region has left scattered power outages in her wake.

Falmouth, Provincetown, Yarmouth, Harwich, Bourne, Sandwich and Wareham all have some customers out. Even more- around 1000 or so- are out on the South Shore and South Coast. I learned all this via the NStar Outage Map. Greater Boston is also reporting widespread outages.

We have a Gale Warning and a Wind Advisory until 6 PM or so. Winds will be around 20-25mph, and will gust to 50-60mph. The winds should gradually subside tonight as the storm moves offshore.

Winds like that can and have taken down power lines. NStahhhhh should have it all fixed in a week or so... JK, a few hours.
