Four Alarm Fire In Sandwich

New Bedford Waste Facility Is, Uhm, Wasted...

I'm just printing radio reports and Walter might have someone on the way there as we speak, but I'm hearing reports of a three four alarm fire at New Bedford Waste in Sandwich.

It's 295 Service Road, between exits 2 and 3 on Route 6. Service Road is closed for the immediate future. Smoke is blowing across Route 6, although I haven't heard of the fire making her way to the woods. The fire is very close to the Spaulding Rehabilitation, which may make things difficult there.

I saw every fire truck in Sagamore heading over the bridge, with an ambulance. I'm told that the fire started in a large shed, which has since collapsed.

New Bedford Waste Services is a company that gets rid of stuff that you can't chuck in a landfill. They have processing plants in Rochester, and, until recently, Sandwich.

Either way, keep your head up if you are driving in that area, there could be some minor traffic difficulties.

UPDATE: 4 Alarm fire now, units from Sandwich, Bourne, Mashpee and Falmouth are responding. Seeing as I'm near the Sagamore Bridge, hear sirens coming from the north, and saw Sagamore's fire station empty an hour ago... I'd say Plymouth is also responding.
