BARNSTABLE RECREATION / HYCC UPDATE

Hello Everyone!

GREAT NEWS! The Massachusetts Recreation and Park Association have selected the Hyannis Youth & Community Center as the recipient of the annual Design of Facility Award. Industry peers and professionals selected our facility as the top choice from nominations of public and private facilities around the Commonwealth that offer recreational activities to the residents within and around their communities.  The Award will be presented at the state conference, which this year will be held at the Resort & Conference Center in Hyannis, MA.  http://massrpa.org

National News Coverage! The Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Memorial Skating Rink was seen on a national television broadcast when NBC Nightly News featured the Canadian Women's Hockey League on their recent road trip to the HYCC for their win against Toronto in February. Here is a link to the newscast (be aware that it takes a minute to load and you have to sit through the Walgreens commercial before the actual story runs. But it's worth the 60 seconds of waiting!): http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032619/vp/41682610#41682610

HYCC LOGO CONTEST proudly sponsored by Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation is now in the judging process.  The winner will be contacted by the end of the month and the new logo will be refined and unveiled before summer registration takes place.
