Happy Thanksgiving from the Hyannis Youth & Community Center

As we enter into the Holiday Season, the Hyannis Youth & Community Center ("HYCC") is a center of activity for the whole community, with skating lessons, after school programs and the Lyndon P. Lorusso Youth Center bustling with activity for all ages!  Come and walk on the indoor track, drop in and play basketball,volleyball, pickleball, relax in the Game Room or get some work done in the Computer Lab!  HYCC Annual Memberships are affordable, just $20 for Barnstable Residents and $40 for Non-Residents; guests can join in the fun for just $5/day!  Memberships are available online or stop by and pick up an application today!  Anyone who signs up or renews their membership will be eligible to win a prize in our monthly drawing, plus in your Member Handbook, you will receive coupons for free public skating and one free day pass to share with a friend!  Gift certificates and money-saving punch cards are also available and make great Holiday gift ideas! 

The building will be closed on Thursday, November 23, 2017 for the Thanksgiving Holiday and the Cape Cod Waves Girls Cranberry Classic Hockey Tournament will be in the building Friday through Sunday!  Open Gym and Public Skating times are scheduled while the kids are out of school and during the weekend.  High school hockey try-outs begin next week for Barnstable, Saint John Paul II Mashpee High Schools who all use the ice surfaces for their practices and home games! Additionally, the high school basketball season gets underway in the Gymnasium with Sturgis East and West Charter as well as Saint John Paul II boys and girls teams sharing the space for their practices and games.

On Saturday, December 2nd starting at noon the participants in our Learn to Skate program will present their 6th Annual Holiday Show featuring programs by skaters from tot level to adult, showing off the skills they have learned throughout the Falll session! Admission is FREE, but donations are accepted and will be used to cover the cost of costumes and props.  The Annual HYCC Giving Tree to benefit Cape Cod Children's Place is in the lobby and we are accepting donations of gently used coats and mittens, along with new hats during the Holiday Season.
